With a fine background as a junior player and over 15 years of coaching experience, Matt brings both his passion and his expertise to the court, helping you achieve your goals.


Matt has a wide range of experience and helps players develop their technical, tactical, mental and physical skills to become the best player they can be.  He believes people learn best when they are having fun.  His enthusiastic and supportive coaching style helps players of all abilities improve whilst enjoying tennis.

Matt played competitive tennis from the age of 9 to 18, competing at U10, U12’s, U14’s & U16's level in Portugal and playing county standard in the Algarve, developing alongside several top national players, training and playing at a high level.  Moving from there to England to pursue further education, he captained the school, playing British Schools Tennis.

Matt has 15 years of coaching experience and has taught at several clubs and schools along the Algarve.  Before moving to Dublin, he was a resident coach at the established Jim Stewart Tennis Academy, Quinta Do Lago.  Matt has been coaching at David Lloyd Riverview for the past 13 years and has helped form a great tennis development programme producing some of the top juniors in the country.

Matt studied Sport Science with Business and CIM Marketing and Customer care at university in Southampton before moving into a coaching career.  He teaches both adults and juniors of all ages and abilities from beginners to club/performance level in an informative, relaxed and patient manner.  Matt is available both weekdays and weekends for lessons.
